Project Description

Dr. Majid Hussain is an active and respected Physician in Vancouver, British Columbia. He is a passionate medical educator and Clinical Faculty with the University of British Columbia – Department of Medicine. He is the Chair of the Refugee Health Committee with the SND Division of Family Practice.

Dr. Hussain has been committed to treating marginalized and vulnerable patient populations since 2012. This first began over 5 years ago when he collaborated with his colleagues to spearhead the efforts in starting a free Refugee Medical Clinic in Toronto, Ontario, well before the Refugee Health crisis across the country. He is currently in the midst of opening a multidisciplinary Community Health Centre that is called “Roots CHC”, which will soon be servicing the growing healthcare needs of Newcomers and Refugees in Canada.

Being a natural leader, he is devoted to positively impacting his community and carries his humanitarian initiatives across the globe.

In his free time, Dr. Hussain enjoys exploring the outdoors, volunteering, mentorship of students and spending time with his beloved family.
