Shamoon Ahsan was a courageous and brave young man. He was an active and energetic participant in high school and was proficient in academics and a star on the high school table tennis and basketball teams. In a dignified and strong manner, he fought leukemia, only to pass away at the young age of 18 shortly after receiving his university acceptance letter in his final year of high school.

His parents, Izhar and Nazli Ahsan, have set up this MAX memorial scholarship in his name to inspire young Muslims to strive for their best and to always be humble and appreciate the opportunity to attain a post secondary education.
