Shaila Kibria Carter is a community leader, raising millions of dollars for different causes locally and internationally. With expertise in government relations, community organizing, advocacy, media relations, she can speak two languages.
Author of Maariyah’s Day, a Life Coach, mother and wife, Shaila also heads the Finance & Administration Department for Community Empowering Enterprises – an agency to help Black youth who face multiple barriers achieve financial stability for themselves and their families, helping to strengthen the communities in which they live.
She has been an active volunteer with Islamic Relief since 2005. She holds a BA from the University of Toronto in English and History. Her passion for charitable work is highlighted by her commitment and expertise in the non-profit sector. She specializes in non-profit management and governance.
