Furakh Mir is a Canadian Muslim lawyer, currently practicing in Mississauga, Ontario. She obtained her Honours B.A. from the University of Toronto in 2002 and Bachelor of Laws, LL.B. from the University of Windsor in 2005. Presently, she acts as the principal lawyer at Mir Law Office, serving clients across the Greater Toronto Area.
As a mother of two, she is strongly committed to charitable work that promotes children’s health, advocacy for children with disabilities and social justice. As a result of a personal experience with her infant son contracting bacterial meningitis, she founded the Canadian Registered Charity, Meningitis Relief Canada (MRC) in 2012, which raises meningitis awareness and provides counselling and financial support to individuals and families affected by the disease.
Currently, she serves as the President and Chair of the Board for Meningitis Relief Canada (MRC).
